Unemployment Insurance Fund supports people throughout their working lives
In addition to the unemployed, the Unemployment Insurance Fund also provides new services to working people.
- Career counselling. As of January 2015, both employed and unemployed people receive free career counselling with the support of the European Social Fund.
- Formal education. As of 1 May 2017, the Unemployment Insurance Fund supports the studies of both unemployed and employed people in their vocational, applied higher education and BA studies. The selection includes schools throughout Estonia, and there are more than 170 curricula to choose from.
- Training. The Unemployment Insurance Fund provides the employed with training by primarily supporting people who are in a weaker position in terms of labour market. During three years, employees can invest up to €2,500 into their skills with the support of the Unemployment Insurance Fund. In 2016, 12,816 people received training (incl. taking vocational and competency exams) with the help of the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
